Life is like a storybook. Everyday is like a page, filled with its own events and lessons.

.: The Hard Way:.
Sallam,
During the Prophet's times, there was a Yathrib leader named Amru bin Jamu. He was the leader of Bani Salamah and he was well known for being humane and good natured. As he was a leader, he had his own personal idol named, Manat.
Islam reached Yathrib when he was 60 years old. At that time he had a wife named Hindun, and 3 sons. His sons' best friend is Muaz bin Jabal. At the time, everyone in Yathrib had accepted Islam except for their family. Amru bin Jamu strived hard to make sure his family did not accept Islam.
One day his wife came up to him and said that their sons' friend, Muaz, went to one of Musab bin Umairs lessons. So he called Muaz bin Jabal and asked him what did he learn. Muaz recited surah al-Fatihah. Amru bin Jamu was astonished. He was amazed at such beautiful words. So Muaz asked if he wanted to accept Islam, Amru bin Jamu said that he had to discuss with Manat.
So he went to Manat and said,
" A Messenger has come with good intentions. He brings good to me and the people, but he has bad intentions with you. Please show me a sign on what to do."
Manat didn't answer..
"You must be mad, I'll leave you to think for a few days."
So he left Manat, his idol for a few days. One day, his 3 sons took Manat and threw it away. When Amru went to see Manat he couldn't find it. So he searched and searched and found it. He said he'd kill the person who had did this.
The day after that, his 3 sons repeated the same thing. Amru went to find Manat. This time he place a sword in front of Manat and said, "If you truly are my god, you would protect yourself."
The following day, Amru's 3 sons brought a corpse of a dog and placed it on Manat and took the sword away as well.
Amru was outraged!! And after that, he accepted Islam. When the call for the battle of Uhud was made, Amru wanted so much to go, but due to his age his 3 sons wouldn't allow him. So he went to the Prophet and said,
"I don't want Jannah the easy way, I want it the hard way. Please let me go."The Prophet let him go and made dua' so that Amru may attain Jannah.
During the battle of Uhud, one of sons fought side by side with him, always watching him..always looking out for him. And Masha-Allah, both of them died as syahid..
There were 10 sahabahs protecting the Prophet during Uhud, and Amru and his son were 2 of them...Masha- Allah..
We usually want the easy way to do something, who wouldn't want the easy way to Jannah?? But not Amru..amazing :)
