One day Imam Al-Ghazali gathered his students and asked;

Imam Ghazali : What is the closest thing to us in the dunya?

Student 1: Our parents

Student 2: Teachers

Student 3: Friends

Student 4: Family

Imam Ghazali: All that is true. But the closest of all is DEATH. Allah has promised that every soul will die. (Surah Ali-Imran: 185)

Imam Ghazali: What is the farthest from us in this dunya?

Student 1: China

Student 2: The moon

Student 3: The sun

Student 4: The stars

Iman Ghazali : All that is true, but the farthest of all is the PAST. Whoever we are or however we are, we can never get back the time that has passed. For that we must value today, tomorrow and every day that comes. We must not perform deed not suitable with Islam.

Iman Ghazali: What is the biggest thing in this dunya?

Student 1: Mountains

Student2: The sun

Student 3: Earth

Imam Ghazali: All that is true, but the biggest of all is HAWA NAFSU. (Surah Al A’raf: 179).So be careful of lust, don’t let it bring us to Jahannam.

IMAM GHAZALI: What is the heaviest in this dunya?

Student 1: Fertilizer

Student 2: Metal

Student 3: Elephant

Imam Ghazali: All of that is true, but the heaviest of all is AMANAH. (Surah Al-Ahzab ; 72 ). The plants, animals, mountains, stars and angels, all did not have the power when Allah asked them to become the Khalifah in the dunya. But we, mankind, with such pride fought amongst ourselves to fulfil this Khalifah until a great number of mankind entered Jahannam for not doing his AMANAH properly.

Imam Ghazali: What is the lightest thing in this dunya?

Student 1: Cotton

Student 2: The wind

Student 3: Dust

Student 4: Leaves

Imam Ghazali: All that is true, but the lightest of all is LEAVING THE SALAH. Business, work and all worldly affairs make us leave our salah.

Imam Ghazali: What is the sharpest in this dunya?

His students answered simultaneously: The sword

Imam Ghazali: That is true, but the sharpest of all is the TONGUE. The tongue can easily break hearts of our brothers.
