THE n.i.l.e.

Sallams,

Today, I got the chance to wander on the waters of the Nile river. It was breathtaking...not really because of its beauty, but because of the past...

While riding the boat, I was like...wow..this is the very river that the Prophet Musa was put in a basket and sent down the river...I was touched...the feeling of being so close to the past of Islam is so...I dunno how to describe it...

Then Kak Wan told us a story about the river. During the rule of Khalifah Umar al-Khattab, the Nile was dried up. The people believed that in order to fill it up, they had to sacrifice their daughters. They believed that there was a Protector of the Nile.

But some of the people there did not agree with this belief, so they went to see the Khalifah. Amirul Mukminin wrote a letter to the Nile river...the letter went something like this (not exact wording)

" If you are a servant of Allah that always praises HIM, then please after this never dry up."

Then with the will of Allah, the Nile never went dry ever again until this day. If you think logically, Egypt never rains. It only rains 2 times a year..and thats not even rain..it's drizzle.. so logically the Nile would dry up...

But Masha Allah...it doesn't.. .a little boat ride taught me loads...

If the Nile knew its purpose in life...what about us??

Today I saw someone, someone I've been wanting to sit and talk with. But she's so well known that every second she's always with someone...maybe next time I'll get the chance..
